HISTORY ASPECTS:
Etihad Airways’ Airbus A380-800, registration A6-APA, represents the pinnacle of luxury and innovation in commercial aviation. Delivered in December 2014, A6-APA was the first of ten A380s ordered by Etihad, making a grand debut with the launch of The Residence—the world’s only three-room suite on a commercial aircraft. The superjumbo quickly became the flagship of Etihad's fleet, offering a new standard in air travel from its hub in Abu Dhabi.
A6-APA was primarily deployed on high-capacity, long-haul routes such as Abu Dhabi to London Heathrow, New York JFK, and Sydney. The aircraft featured a four-class configuration: The Residence, First Apartments, Business Studios, and Economy Smart Seats. This innovative layout maximized both comfort and privacy, reinforcing Etihad’s brand as a leader in premium service. The aircraft’s double-deck design allowed for unique inflight experiences, including lounge areas and spacious cabins unmatched in most commercial jets.
Though the global aviation industry faced setbacks during the COVID-19 pandemic, A6-APA and its sister A380s saw a resurgence in 2023 as Etihad began reintroducing them to meet increasing demand. The aircraft's return to service has been met with enthusiasm by passengers eager to experience the grandeur of the A380 once again. Today, A6-APA remains a symbol of Etihad’s ambition and commitment to redefining luxury air travel.
This 1:200 scale model beautifully replicates the airline’s elegant “Facets of Abu Dhabi” livery and iconic superjumbo profile. Perfectly detailed and crafted for discerning collectors, it’s an impressive centerpiece that celebrates one of the most luxurious aircraft in modern aviation history.
