Built at the Carrozzeria Scaglietti and designed by Pininfarina, the 250 GT Berlinetta short wheelbase was shown to the public for the first time at the 1959 Paris Motor Show, The short wheelbase was added to differentiate this car, which had a wheelbase of 2400 mm, from the 250 GT Berlinetta Tour de France with a wheelbase of 2600 mm. The car was designed for use in racing, but was also sold to private customers; they could order it with racing features, such as the all-aluminum body (the lighter equipment) and the more powerful engine. In addition to an enhanced powertrain, the lighter body of the competition models also featured minor modifications. This 1960 version has black interior, Borrani replica spoke wheels. The model is assembled in Italy in the BBR factory in Saronno.
