HISTORY ASPECTS:
The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner is the original and shortest member of Boeing’s 787 family of advanced widebody passenger aircraft. Designed for long-distance routes with improved fuel efficiency, the 787 incorporates lightweight composite materials, advanced aerodynamics, and modern engine technology. Its distinctive raked wingtips, smooth fuselage lines, and large passenger windows give it a recognizable appearance. The aircraft was developed to allow airlines to operate long-haul services efficiently while offering passengers a more comfortable cabin environment.
The AirTainment JAWS “Laws Quint Sharkliner” transforms the modern Dreamliner into a tribute to Jaws, the iconic 1975 thriller directed by Steven Spielberg. The film tells the story of a great white shark terrorizing the fictional resort community of Amity Island, prompting police chief Martin Brody, marine biologist Matt Hooper, and professional shark hunter Quint to pursue the animal. Quint, played by Robert Shaw, became one of the movie’s most memorable characters, particularly during the tense voyage aboard his fishing boat, the Orca. The special aircraft concept draws on the film’s enduring association with sharks, ocean adventure, and suspense.
The Jaws franchise became a major part of popular culture, helping establish the modern summer blockbuster and influencing generations of filmmakers and audiences. Its instantly recognizable imagery, dramatic ocean setting, and unforgettable musical score made the great white shark one of cinema’s most famous creatures. The “Laws Quint Sharkliner” concept brings this cinematic legacy into commercial aviation through a themed Boeing 787-8, combining the Dreamliner’s sleek shape with the personality and atmosphere of the classic film. As a specially themed entertainment model, it represents a fictional tribute rather than an aircraft operated by a real-world airline.
This 1:200 scale model combines the graceful proportions of Boeing’s modern long-haul aircraft with the memorable imagery of one of cinema’s most celebrated shark thrillers. Its distinctive movie-inspired theme makes it an eye-catching addition for collectors of Boeing Dreamliners, film memorabilia, and Jaws merchandise, bringing together aviation and classic Hollywood suspense in one unusual display piece.
